Orientation at Cal Poly is a process with several stages, each of which is vital to student success. You're a Mustang now; here is your path to success:

Poly Live


Poly Live is a live web show designed to give new students and their families a taste of campus life at Cal Poly. While it is hosted by two current students and featuring guests from many corners of the campus, you, the viewer, will direct the content of each episode with your questions and comments. A large archive of resources is also available on our website today!

Soar


Soar is a summer orientation program for all incoming students, parents and supporters. We have freshman sessions, a transfer session, and even an out of state and international session! In Soar, you will get prepared for being a Cal Poly student. Individuals that attend Soar will get information on various campus resources, will learn helpful tips to succeeding as a Cal Poly student, and will become better acquainted with Cal Poly and the San Luis Obispo Community. Reservations will be open mid-May. Sign up early to reserve your choice of session!

July 15-16; July 18-19; July 22-23; July 25-26; July 29-30; August 1-2; August 5-6

For Transfer Students & Families:
August 12 – 13

For Out of State & International Students & Families
September 17

Poly Learn


In early August, new freshmen can go online and complete a Poly Learn Course about their Fall 2013 Class Schedule. The course will assist students in reviewing information about classes for Fall Quarter. On August 7, once you have completed the Poly Learn Course, students can view their fall schedule.


WOW


September 17-22

Meet your new living community, talk with current students about issues Cal Poly students face, learn about your major and academic advising, get involved in clubs and organizations on campus, and make social connections that last years! WOW offers this and much more! Reservations will begin in May. For more information, check out the Week of Welcome website.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENT ORIENTATION
It is mandatory for all international students who are new to Cal Poly. More information can be found here.
