President's Welcome
Family members and students are invited to join Cal Poly President, Warren J. Baker, for a special greeting. Enjoy a relaxed atmosphere as you mingle with current students, parents, faculty, and staff and meet other new parents and supporters.

Resource Fair
Representatives from campus services and resources will be available to help answer any questions and address any concerns you may have about Cal Poly. Come to get brochures, pamphlets, and more information than you can imagine!

Parent Hospitality Lounge
Drop in to ask questions and mingle with current Cal Poly parents and students while enjoying light refreshments. This relaxed atmosphere is the perfect place to gather information about Cal Poly and its resources from those who have learned it all first-hand, as well as share concerns and expectations with other new Cal Poly parents and supporters.

Parent Workshops & Informational Sessions
Sessions will be hosted by various campus resources on topics such as:
  • The Road to Self-Advocacy: Parents as Partners
  • Orientation to Greek Life: A Parent's Perspective
  • Querida Mama y Papa
College Deans' Sessions
Meet the Dean and the Associate Dean from the college of your new student. Also learn more about academic life at Cal Poly.

Kid's Passport
Aimed to entertain younger siblings and guests while parents and supporters enjoy their own programming and new students are getting settled in, Kid's Passport provides a variety of activities geared for ages seven and above. Activities include bowling, billiards, arcade games, crafts, face-painting, a rock-climbing wall, a bounce house and more! Check-in for pre-reserved guests will be available from 10:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. for the event which runs from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. The Kid's Passport includes one slice of pizza or a scoop of ice cream, but a separate ticket is still required for entry into the Family Orientation BBQ. Be sure to reserve a spot now!

Family Orientation BBQ
Join us on Sunday, September 14, 2008 for a good meal before you leave for your trip home. It is the final event for the weekend and one last opportunity for you and your family to interact with other new students and their families. BBQ tickets must be ordered by August 31 at 4 p.m. Please see the Reservation and Fee Information.
