Club Sports

The Club Sports program offers students at Cal Poly one of the top sport club opportunities in the nation. The program provides the student body with the opportunity to participate in competitive/instructional sport clubs as a way of enhancing the college experience at Cal Poly.

The student athletes get a chance to compete against other sport clubs throughout the nation as well as enhance their skill level and abilities in their sport. The goal of the Clubs Sports program is to develop a safe, fun and competitive environment that provides athletes with opportunities for:

  • Development of character;
  • Recreational and competitive experiences for any skill level;
  • Development of lifetime appreciation for sport and physical activity; and
  • A chance to represent Cal Poly at state- and nation-wide competitions.

Creating and Maintaining Friendships

The Club Sports are run and organized by student members. Each club elects officers to coordinate practices, competition schedules, transportation, publicity, and all club activities. As an officer, the student athlete gains organizational and leadership skills they will continue to use throughout their lives.

Clubs are required to demonstrate sportsmanship and maintain communication with all University staff members.
